A Quiet Place observes the notion of moral blindness through metaphors connected to vision and image recognition. The series of color coded images comprised in this imaginary grand tour of locations whose memory is connected to instances of darkness in the social history of Italy from the last 80 years — such as serial murders, terrorist attacks, and so on — borrows its way of portraying the suburban and urban landscape from the traditional veduta.

Content of the images was obtained by archival investigation of actual locations where acts of violence that strongly resonated with the public opinion in Italy took place; the visuals were appropriated from online mapping tools and subsequently edited. Partly concealed, the actual locations where the grisly events took place can only be discerned in the images through a red filter or under red light.
